Fox Sports' key demographic is males between 18 and 49 years of age. Fox launched the Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2 television channels in 2013, and they reach roughly 90 million homes. Fox Sports airs NASCAR, Major League Baseball, Big 12 football, Golden Boy boxing and UFC programming.
The Fox Broadcasting Company began Fox Sports as a direct competitor to ESPN. Fox reworked its Speed channel into Fox Sports 1. In its first year, Fox Sports 1 had a 48 percent growth over the Speed channel and a 62 percent growth in its key demographic. As of 2014, Fox Sports 1 is the fastest-growing sports cable channel in prime time, reaching more than 100 million viewers.
