Ken Follett wrote the Century Trilogy, a fictional historical epic taking place during the 20th century. The novels "Fall of Giants," "Winter of the World" and "Edge of Eternity" make up the Century Trilogy.

The Century Trilogy follows five interrelated families , one American, one Russian, one German, one English and one Welsh. "Fall of Giants" takes place during the First World War and the Russian Revolution. "Winter of the World" picks up where the first book left off, following the events of World War Two and the Cold War. "Edge of Eternity" covers the events between the Vietnam War and the fall of the Berlin Wall.
