What is Tencel?
By Forinfos - 14/12/2025 - 0 comments
Tencel is the brand name of lyocell, a silk-like fabric produced by Courtaulds that is obtained from eucalyptus trees. Tencel is environmentally friendly and is 100 percent biodegradable. It is harvested from tree farms that use no genetic mutation, irrigation or pesticides.
Tencel is similar to rayon, but the manufacturing process causes much less air pollution and water emissions. Tencel is often blended with other natural fabrics, such as wool and cotton, to produce fabric for clothing due to its easy cleaning and ability to be dyed in vivid colors. Tencel is a strong fabric that has good draping qualities and a soft feel.
