Are online quotes different than in person quotes?

Using a block quote in a research paper takes on the same format, regardless of the source in question. The difference is found in the format for the citation of that source.
In person interviews utilize a very simple citation type, requiring only the name of the interviewee, the date the interview took place, and that the source is an interview. Electronic and online sources require a more extensive citation format, which varies based on the type of resource being referred to. These formats are also different from one writing format to the next, such as Chicago, MLA, or APA formatted citations.
