There is no universal or set amount for child care. Many variables can change the cost of these services. According to BabyCenter, the cost of child care relies on four major things: area of residence, type of childcare, number of hours and the child’s age.
Child care for babies and toddlers generally is more expensive because they need more specialized care and closer supervision. According to the National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies, the average cost for a month is $972. Preschool children average $733 in monthly child care. The cost of child care coincides with the cost of living; the more expensive the state, the more costly the childcare.
