What is Drambuie liqueur?

Drambuie is a sweet liquor made from scotch whiskey, heather honey, herbs and spices. It contains 40 percent alcohol by volume. It originated in Scotland and was first commercially sold in 1910. It is manufactured by the Drambuie Liquor Company Limited, as of 2015.

A cocktail made with Drambuie liquor is the Scotch Coffee. It is made using 1 ounce of Drambuie, 1 1/2 ounces of vodka, a 1/4 ounce of fresh lemon juice, 1 ounce of cooled coffee and Angostura bitters. Shake the ingredients together with ice, strain into a glass with fresh ice, and garnish while a lemon slice.
