Schnepf Farms in Arizona is one of the largest agri-tourist farms in the United States, as well as the largest organic peach grower in the state of Arizona. Over a quarter of a million people visit per year for festivals, weddings and music events.
Ray and Thora Schnepf began Schnepf Farms in the late 1960s. Their first crop was potatoes, which they used to make potato chips. In the 1970s, they began to plant queen palms, Mexican palms and palm trees. Soon after, they had over 5,000 acres and began shipping vegetables all across the country. In October 2006, governor Janet Napolitano and the Arizona Office of Tourism officially designated Schnepf Farms as an Arizona Treasure.
