The Comanche were a nomadic tribe living in the southern areas of the Great Plains. They lived in and travelled with tepees. They were known to be great horsemen, keeping huge herds and trading them with other tribes and settlers.
The Comanche were known to be a warlike tribe, often fighting the Spanish, Americans and Mexicans. They made allies with the Kiowa, Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes. They wore buckskin tunics as well as buffalo hide robes. They decorated themselves with beads and had war bonnets with eagle feathers in them. They hunted and ate buffalo, deer, elk and other wild game, and supplemented with roots, wild vegetables and fruits
