A kitchen layout planner is a creative tool that helps users in drawing and creating a detailed and efficient kitchen floor plan. Some kitchen layout planners allow users to create virtual interior designs and detailed lists of all products that the designers have chosen to use.

Kitchen planners are available online. Ikea's website has a 3D planning tool that enables the user to not only create a kitchen layout but fit in windows, doors and cabinets as well; the design can be seen as a flat plan or a 3D view. Some sites require the installation of a simple program for free. Other sites, such Profactum, do not require an actual download.
