What is the method of graphing imaginary numbers?

Imaginary numbers are graphed on the complex plane as part of complex numbers where the y-axis represents the imaginary number values and the x-axis represents the real number values. Complex numbers are of the form "x" + "yi" where "yi" is the imaginary number value plotted on the y-axis.
The parallelogram rule is used to graphically represent the addition of complex numbers, which are treated as different sides of a parallelogram. Imaginary numbers are assumed to exist not only in complex numbers, but also in real numbers, where they are graphed on the coordinate plane because their value is zero.
