What do lady beetles eat besides aphids?

By Forinfos - 03/09/2025 - 0 comments

When they are not consuming aphids, lady beetles may prey on another kind of soft-bodied insect that is closely related to aphids. Some lady beetle species feed on fungal spores, while other types of lady beetles eat bean plants and pollen. In massive swarms, lady beetles can cause major damage to crops or agricultural farms.

With hundreds of different species, lady beetles are found almost everywhere on Earth. They are found living in temperate, terrestrial and tropical habitats and prefer areas that are abundant in herbs, bushes and other plants. Lady beetles grow between 1 to 10 millimeters long and may live for up to two years in the wild.
