Although the size of Bigfoot footprints vary, the average length is 15.6 inches and the average width is 7.2 inches, according to a paper published by Dr. W. H. Fahrenbach in "Cryptozoology." Found footprints have varied in length from 4 to 27 inches long and 3 to 13.5 inches wide.
According to Dr. Fahrenbach, a study of 706 collected footprints indicated that Bigfoot feet might be slightly larger than the measured prints. The toes appear to curl as Bigfoot walks, which shortens the length of the prints. Bigfoot prints tend to be flat-footed rather than arched like a human print, which indicates a shuffling or ambling gait that allows Bigfoot to cover ground quickly while conserving energy.
