What is the object of curling ?

The object of curling is to guide a granite curling stone from one end of the ice rink to a marked target on the other side of the rink. Two teams of four compete against each other using two stones per player.

Every team player takes turns delivering the stone, guiding the stone’s delivery and telling the sweepers when to sweep. When delivering a stone, a player either plays a ''draw'' so that the stone rests somewhere in the playing area, or a ''takeout" so that the delivered stone takes out an opposition stone. The team whose stones are nearest to the middle of the target wins.
