Leave a voice message without the phone ringing by entering the voice mail on your phone, choosing the leave a message option, entering the phone number and recording the message. The individual must have service in your home area and use the same cellular service.

  1. Call voice mail

    Dial the number you normally call to retrieve your voice mail.

  2. Select the correct option

    At the voice mail menu, listen to the options. Choose to leave a message.

  3. Send the message

    Speak the message you want to leave. At the end of the message, press the pound symbol.

  4. Listen for special options

    Some carriers allow special options for messages. Choose the option for urgent or private if applicable.
