At that time, there was no distinction between presidential and vice-presidential votes in the electoral college. Jefferson and Burr tied with 73 electoral votes each, a majority but still technically a tie according to the Constitution. The House of Representatives, controlled by the opposing Federalist party, was not happy with either choice. It took 36 ballots for representatives to reach a decision to elect Jefferson. The 12th Amendment was passed in 1804 to prevent this problem from happening again by separating presidential and vice-presidential votes in the Electoral College.
Where was King Tut buried?

Rubble from Ramesses V's and Ramesses VI's tombs buried the door to King Tut's tomb and helped disguise it from robbers. The Ramesside tomb's entry tunnel overlaid Tut's tomb, further hiding it, and nearby Horemheb's tomb probably also contributed to the overlying rubble.\nEvidence suggests King Tut's burial was hurried. Paintings in his tomb are large and relatively unadorned, and splotches on the paint indicate it wasn't dry when the tomb was sealed. Carelessly embalmed, it appears that Tut's body combusted in the tomb, which is evidence of improp..

The Cherokee also built larger rectangular structures that were sometimes partitioned. These structures often served as council houses where members of the community could come together, discuss affairs and hold ceremonies. Unlike the Native American tribes living in the plains regions, who migrated often and lived in quickly constructed teepees, the Cherokee were relatively settled in their communities and built their more durable homes close to where they grew their crops. At the time of the first contact with European settlers, the Cherokee villages were permanent communities consisting of ..
How did Mexico change as a result of the Mexican Revolution?

While the tenure of Ãlvaro Obregón as president from 1920 to 1924 ostensibly ended the Mexican Revolution, conflict in the country continued on a smaller scale for the next decade, including the Cristero War from 1926 to 1929 and the assassination of Obregón in 1928 after he won a second presidential term. Insurrections and political violence never wholly left Mexico as a result of the revolution. One example of this is the Zapatista revolt in the 1990s, which took its name from the revolutionary figure Emiliano Zapatista. The revolution also led to a flourishing of culture in Mexico. Corrid..

Attempts to Christianize Seminoles began in the 1870s, by Baptist Missionaries. The Episcopal Church followed in the 1890s by erecting a mission at Big Cypress. It wasn’t until 1907 that already-Christianized Native American missionaries approached Florida Seminoles living near Lake Okeechobee. These Creek Indians were Baptist missionaries from Oklahoma, and spoke the same languages as the Seminoles.\n1936 saw the dedication of the First Seminole Indian Baptist Church, and by 1946 several Seminole men had enrolled at the Florida Baptist Institute. Over time, converted Christian Seminoles est..

During the formation of the Earth, radioactive elements became embedded in the minerals that make up the Earth's crust. Since many of the minerals seen on a daily basis contain elements that decay over time, scientists can determine the ages of certain types of rocks.\nThe elements embedded in the Earth's crust decay over time because they are very unstable. When these elements decay and turn into other elements, scientists measure the difference between the original element and its decayed form. Since the rates at which these elements are fixed, all that's left to do is find ou..

During the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, the week grew to regularly encompass a full month, and the first official Black History Month was declared by President Gerald Ford in 1976. Traditionally, each president since that year has named February as Black History Month. The president also typically chooses a theme for that year, such as 2013's "At the Crossroads of Freedom and Equality: the Emancipation Proclamation and the March on Washington."

The idea behind crop rotation is to ensure the same crops are not grown in the same place for more than two years. Using the three- or four-year method helps to decrease the crops pest population by denying a long-term host to sustain them. Crop rotation also allows new crops to take advantage of the nutrients left by the previous set of crops.
