Who is Aaron Burr?

Aaron Burr was a soldier in the Revolutionary War who later became a lawyer. From there he went on to join the Senate, which earned him the enmity of Alexander Hamilton for beating out the man's father-in-law. He ran for presidency against Jefferson and eventually lost, becoming vice president. When he lost his run for governorship of New York in 1804, he blamed Hamilton and killed the man in a duel. Three years later, Burr was charged with conspiracy, for which he was later acquitted.
