How do you sew shorts?

On the existing pair of shorts, measure the waistband, the side seam, the width of the leg opening, the front and back seams and the inseam. Use these measurements to draw a pattern on paper, and add a seam allowance of 1/2 inch. Cut out two fronts and two backs from the fabric.
