Why do dogs eat tissues?

If eating tissue paper is a regular occurrence and not just something the dog does occasionally, then it is possible that the dog has pica. Pica is a condition that also affects humans and results in a urge to eat things that are not edible. Eating excessive paper can be bad for a dog's health in the long run because paper can get stuck in the dog's digestive system. This can eventually require surgery, so eating paper should not be encouraged.

Praying mantises are predatory insects. They normally eat other insects, but large females have been observed taking small reptiles, mammals and hummingbirds. They also eat one another, and a female mantis sometimes eats her mate following copulation. Both Chinese and African mantises are sometimes kept as pets, and the Chinese mantis often becomes tame enough to perch on an owner's hand and accept hand feeding.

In one of the research tests, a lever was placed in an aquarium full of goldfish. Each time the fish nudged the handle, food would be dispensed. This was done until the fish associated the nudging action with food. Subsequent to this, the lever was modified so that it would issue food during one specific hour during the day. The fish quickly adapted to this and nudged the lever only at the time that it would dispense food. Some of the test goldfish even started to display signs of anticipation. The fish would gather near the lever as the feeding hour approached, but would not begin to nudge it..
Why are cheetahs becoming extinct?

In the 1950s, there were between 20,000 and 40,000 cheetahs in the world. That number dropped by roughly 50 percent by the 1970s and is hovering in the range of 5,000 to 15,000 today. As their habitat in Africa shrinks, cheetahs have an increasingly difficult time finding enough food. When their habitat was larger, they were able to hunt and thrive. However, today they must compete with larger, more powerful predators, such as lions and hyenas, for limited game. This problem occurs in the wild as well as on game preserves.\nHowever, in the wild cheetahs must also hide from human beings, partic..

Cocker Spaniels tend to gain weight easily and require a strict diet, according to Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue. Typically, this breed does well on a raw diet that is low in wheat. Higher end dog foods can also help keep weight in check.

Animals adapt and evolve to survive in their natural habitat. A wild animal is the product of years of adaptations that enable it to survive in this environment. When humans, either willfully or accidentally, transplant a wild animal into a new habitat, the animal becomes a non-native species. When a non-native species outcompetes its native counterparts or otherwise becomes detrimental to the ecosystem, it becomes an invasive species. Common examples of invasive species in North America include European starlings, house sparrows and Japanese beetles.\nAnimals that live in the wild but are des..

Crawfish are excellent climbers and jumpers. Use a tank that is at least 5 gallons or larger with a 4-inch water depth. Crawfish prefer this water level rather than anything deeper. They also like hiding places that they use as shelter during the day. So use lots of rocks that mimic their natural habitat with plants and gravel. Be careful not to place the rocks too close to the edge where the crawfish can climb and escape.\nCrawfish are solitary and like privacy. So it's best not to raise them together in the same aquarium. If more than one is desired, make sure they each have adequate sp..

Fleas are detrimental to pets and humans due to the biting they perform that causes itching and irritation. Fleas are also capable of transmitting diseases to both pets and humans with their bites.\nSpringtails, on the other hand, do not bite pets or humans, and spread no diseases. They may appear in large numbers indoors, though, if they've migrated from outdoors. Unlike fleas, which can reproduce indoors and may take advanced treatments to kill permanently, springtails do not reproduce inside, and they are easily disposed of with a vacuum cleaner.
