Sea ice is important for the polar bears' survival because they need it as a platform to hunt seals. Seals cut breathing holes in the ice. Polar bears find these breathing holes and wait for a seal to come up to breathe before pouncing. Polar bears also stalk and kill seals sunning on top of the ice.\nPolar bears can only hunt as long as the sea ice is present. With global warming, the sea ice is disappearing sooner and not reforming until later in the season, leaving polar bears without enough hunting time. Polar bears must swim to the ice to hunt. With disappearing sea ice, this results..

Almost all spiders have venom, although only a small number can harm humans. Spiders use their venom to paralyze or kill their prey by pressing their fangs into the victims to make the venom glands contract and release their poison. Spiders eat a wide variety of creatures, including small insects, other spiders and, in the case of large tarantulas, lizards, birds and mice. Some spiders eat enough insects each year to equal the population of the United Kingdom. They cannot digest solids, so they use enzymes to transform the food into a liquidized state.\nSpiders catch their prey in many ways. M..

Once a fruit fly colony is established, even removing fruit may not be enough to prevent them from breeding. Fruit flies can breed in slime or on old, sour mops and sponges. They can progress from egg to adult in eight days and live for a full 30 days, reproducing rapidly.\nOver time, their population can be squashed by removing their access to food. Any over-ripe fruits and vegetables must be immediately thrown away. Fruit flies are very small and can find their ways through tiny cracks, so keep all food in airtight containers or in the refrigerator.\nWipe and spray counters regularly, cleani..
