Do you have to be able to calculate percentages to get a GED?

As of March 2015, some GED sample test questions reference percentages, although the testing agency does not specifically state that test takers must know how to calculate percentages. The GED addresses the same basic math skills that high school students learn prior to graduation, including concepts from algebra and geometry.
A formula reference sheet is provided on the day of the test and includes common mathematical formulas, such as the formula for a circumference of a circle. Test takers can use a calculator for most parts of the Mathematical Reasoning section of the GED, but hand-held and embedded-screen calculators are not allowed for the first five math questions.
