How does an absorption chiller work ?
By Forinfos - 20/11/2025 - 0 comments
An absorption chiller works by using a compressor to boil vapor out of a solution of water and lithium bromide. The refrigerant vapor is then compressed to a higher pressure.
The chiller relies on the compressor to complete all the processes. In the process of cooling, two fluids are used: an absorbent and a refrigerant. Water is usually used as the refrigerant and can change into water or vapor easily in the system at different stages. The chiller also depends on heat to run the process. Water boils at a lower temperature and pressure due to its high affinity for the absorbent, usually ammonia or lithium bromide.
