According to its official website, the Pennsylvania State Police allows criminal records to be accessed online or through a written request form. The state's online criminal records system is known as Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History, or PATCH.
According to the PATCH website, citizens can use the system to submit new requests and check the status of a previously submitted request. Using the written form requires a $10 money order or certified check to be sent with the form. PATCH users can pay the fee using a credit card. Notarized copies of criminal records are available for the circumstances of international adoption, visa, citizenship and international employment.
