What is Africa's most prominent highland landform?

The most prominent highland landform in Africa is the Ethiopian Highlands. Located in eastern Africa on what is known as the Horn of Africa, the highlands cover an area of 104,000 square miles in the countries of Ethiopia, Eritrea and Sudan.
The Ethiopian Highlands is the largest region of sustained high elevation in Africa. Few areas are below 4,900 feet in elevation, and the highest peaks reach an elevation of nearly 15,000 feet. The relatively sunny and dry climate makes the region particularly susceptible to drought and has, throughout history, frequently plunged the region's dense, agrarian population into severe famines.
