Is air classified as a solution?
By Forinfos - 01/01/2026 - 0 comments
Air is considered a gaseous solution. Molecules of the different gases that make up the atmosphere have completely integrated into a homogeneous mixture, meaning there is no distinguishable boundary between substances in the solution.
Although not gaseous, another example of a solution can be obtained by putting creamer into coffee. This is considered a homogeneous solution, because the creamer cannot be separated from the coffee through physical means. The Earth's atmosphere is an extremely important part to the success of life on the planet. The fact that the atmosphere is a solution ensures that plants and animals have a consistent mix of the gaseous elements that they require.
