What is an AirPrint printer?

An AirPrint printer is a wireless printer that is compatible with Apple's printing solution included with OS X and iOS based devices. AirPrint compatible printers are available from Epson, Canon, Brother, Dell, Fuji, Xerox and HP, among others.

AirPrint is used to wirelessly send print jobs to compatible printers. Some of its features include automatic media selection, easy discovery and premium finishing options. For a AirPrint to work properly, the Mac or iOS device must be connected to a single Wi-Fi network, either via a direct connection or bridging. AirPrint cannot work on public networks like public Wi-Fi hotspots, cellular 4G or 3G data connections, and Bluetooth connections.
