The American Heart Association offers video-based courses for pediatric life support led by an instructor. Each course is 14 hours long plus additional break and lunch times.
The course content for the PALS course contains infant and child CPR, case discussions and simulations and a course in the systematic approach to pediatric assessment vascular access. Successfully completing the course earns students a 2-year certificate and PALS Provider Course Completion Card.
This course is designed for healthcare workers who respond to child and infant emergencies; this includes doctors, nurses, emergency response teams and similar professionals. The cost for these courses varies.
