American Revolution Bicentennial coins or, as they are called in the catalogs, "200th Anniversary - Independence of USA" coins are commemorative coins issued in the U.S. in 1975-76. Three different designs were struck on quarters, half-dollars and dollar coins.
The quarter has an image of the Revolutionary drummer boy, the half-dollar bore a picture of Independence Hall, and the Liberty Bell and the moon grace the dollar coins.
All the coins, which were made with copper-nickel, were in circulation. However, 40 percent silver-clad coins were minted for collectors too. Some cities also struck uncirculated versions of these commemorative coins.
