Do most Americans watch anime dubbed in English or in Japanese with English subtitles?

According to polls conducted by Fanpop and the Anime News Network, most anime fans prefer to watch Japanese versions with English subtitles. Seventy percent of respondents to the Fanpop poll said that they preferred to watch anime in Japanese with subtitles.

On the Anime News Network's poll, 53.1 percent, equivalent to 4,607 individual people, said that they never watched anime dubbed in English. By way of comparison, 25.8 percent said that they were indifferent to whether anime was subtitled or dubbed in English.

Meanwhile, 4.5 percent of respondents to the same poll, equating to 392 people, said that they would not watch anime that was subtitled.
