What is amoeba excretion?

Amoeba excretion is the release of excess water from the single-celled organism. The excretion is performed by the contractile vacuole, which also is responsible for the intake of fluid.

Amoebas are single-celled organisms that are not large enough to be seen without a microscope. The environments that amoebas are found in include lakes, ponds, rivers and streams.

The inside of an amoeba is filled with a fluid called cytoplasm. The psuedopod is the part of an amoeba that allows the organism to move and catch pieces of food, which consists of algae, bacteria, prozoans and dead animal and plant matter.
