Do animal cells have chloroplasts?

Animal cells do not have chloroplasts. Chloroplasts are food producers only found in the cells of a plants and a select number of protists.

Plants are known as the "producers of the world," and they are considered the basis of all life forms. Chloroplasts take the light energy given off by the sun and convert it into sugars, which are used by the cells to help the plant stay healthy and grow. As the plants grow and thrive they give off oxygen, which is what humans and animals breathe in. Chloroplasts are just one main part of the process known as photosynthesis.
