What are some animals living in the temperature woodlands and shrublands?

Badgers, red foxes, pine martens, fallow deer and lynx are just a sampling of the animals found in the temperate woodlands. These animals thrive in the deciduous trees found in the temperate woodlands, with warm summers, short winters and adequate rainfall.

Animals living in the semi-desert conditions of the shrublands generally only stir in the early morning or late at night when temperatures are more tolerable. Some shrubland animals are nocturnal, moving around mainly at night, including the ringtail cat and coyote. Bobcats, mountain lions, kit foxes, ferrets, skunks, desert cottontail rabbits, jackrabbits and prairie dogs all call the shrublands home.
