Are ants herbivores or carnivores?

Ants are considered to be omnivores. An omnivore is an organism that consumes both plants and animals. Ants eat various foods, such as seeds and other insects.
Omnivores are considered to have a greater chance of surviving more difficult conditions than carnivores or herbivores. This comes from the ability to adjust their diets. An omnivore has an easier time finding foods and adapting to new environments.
Ants can lift and carry more than three times their weight. In ant communities, the worker ants go out and look for food for the colony. Other ants, such as army ants, may prey on reptiles and small mammals.
