Apo-Cephalex contains cephalexin, which is used to treat bacterial infections, such as throat infections, pneumonia, sinus infections, throat infections and bone infections. This drug may be used as a deterrent medication before a dental procedure, as stated by HealthyCanada.
People who are allergic to cephalexin and cephalosporins are advised not to used this drug. Those people who have reactions when using penicillin should also not use Apo-Cephalex. If a person has ever had kidney disease bleeding problems or colitis, he or she needs to consult a doctor. Possible side effects of using Apo-Cephalex include vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea and nausea. The drug is only available through prescription.
