How do you get an Arizona Food Handlers Card study guide?

Arizona food service worker study guides are available on Maricopa.gov under the Environmental Services Department page, as of 2015. Study guides are in PDF form and are available in English, Spanish and Chinese.

The study guides cover all of the information necessary to sit for the food service worker exam and obtain a Food Service Worker Card, such as the causes of food-borne illness, how to prevent the spread of infectious diseases in food establishments, cooking temperatures, holding temperatures and sanitization. The guide addresses techniques for properly handling potentially hazardous foods, as well as for thawing, cooling and reheating foods. There is also information on best practices for manual dish washing, including instructions for pre-scraping, washing, rinsing and air-drying.
