What is the Atkins Diet Induction phase?
By Forinfos - 04/04/2025 - 0 comments
The Induction phase is the first phase of the Atkins Diet, during which the body adjusts to functioning with low levels of carbohydrates. The Induction phase lasts for a full 14 days, and the body is then prompted to start using fat for fuel.
During the Induction phase, dieters must consume 20 or less grams of carbohydrates. This causes the body to go into ketosis and start fueling itself on fat instead of carbohydrates.
During the Induction phase, some dieters report symptoms of fatigue, headaches, nausea and sore muscles. However, the Atkins Diet's Induction phase is followed by rapid weight loss.
