Audie Murphy appeared in 33 Westerns, and some of the most notable ones include "Sierra," "Drums across the River," "Ride Clear of Diablo" and "Ride a Crooked Trail." He also appeared in the acclaimed John Huston Western "The Unforgiven."
"Sierra," released in 1950, was one of Murphy's first movies, and he went on to appear in a series of other Westerns throughout the 50s. Murphy, the most decorated soldier of World War II, usually played the hero but was the bad guy in "Night Passage" and "No Name on the Bullet." In "The Unforgiven," he plays the hot-tempered brother in a family that includes such stars as Burt Lancaster, Lilian Gish and Audrey Hepburn.
