What is an Australian animal starting with the letter "Z"?

Central Australia is home to zebra finches. These little birds are distributed across Australia. Their habitat spans almost the entire continent. They do, however, avoid the extreme northern and southern parts of the continent and the island of Tasmania due to their climates.

Zebra finches are generally found in dry areas. They favor parched wooded areas with accessible grasslands and water sources nearby. These "Aussie battlers" live in flocks of up to 100 or more birds and can survive in harsh and arid habitats. These birds can also be found in Indonesia and East Timor. This bird species has been introduced to Portugal, Brazil, Puerto Rico and the United States.
