What is a bakery floor plan?

A bakery floor plan is an architectural drawing that shows where the kitchen, display items, dining room, checkout area, bathrooms, office area and dry storage area are planned to be built. A bakery floor plan can also include bakery-specific features, such as a children's seating area or a patio area.

The purpose of a bakery floor plan is to allow the owner to see how the flow of customer traffic and employee and equipment functions relate to the space before it is built. After studying the plan, the owner can request that the architect make changes that best support her employees and customers.
