By Forinfos - 18/07/2025 - 0 comments
The bald-faced hornet stings aggressively when its space is invaded. The female bald-faced hornet is known to sting repeatedly when defending its hanging paper nest.
The sting from a bald-faced hornet carries venom, which leaves the sting site swollen for approximately 24 hours. As with that of other stinging insects, the venom can cause allergic reactions in susceptible people. The bald-faced hornet gets its name from its primarily black body with a white pattern on the face. Bald-faced hornets are related to the yellowjacket. These hornets can be found throughout North America, including Canada and much of the United States, particularly the southeastern region.
