Where do banana seeds come from?

Bananas themselves are technically considered berries and do not have seeds; however they reproduce asexually through corms. Corms are the base of a banana plant, or its rhizome.
It takes a banana plant roughly 10 to 15 months to bear fruit. It is important to note, banana plants are not trees, but are part of the herb family.
These plants can grow well over 25 feet. When a banana plant finally produces fruit, it dies. At the base of the plant there are little suckers, which can then be replanted. These suckers will eventually grow into more banana plants and bear more fruit.
