Was Barbara Mandrell sued after her automobile accident?

Singer Barbara Mandrell was not sued after her automobile accident in September 1984. In fact, Mandrell filed a lawsuit against the family of Mark White, the deceased driver who caused the accident

During an interview with Ralph Emery of The Nashville Network, Mandrell revealed that under Tennessee law she had to file the lawsuit against White to collect from her insurance company. Mandrell further stated that she informed the White family through her lawyers that she wanted no money from them and was only doing what she had to do to get her insurance company to pay her medical bills.
