Are bats mammals?

Bats are mammals. They have fur, are warm-blooded and nurse their young with milk. However, bats are the only mammals that can achieve true flight. Their arms and hands have evolved into wings, but instead of feathers, their wings have a leathery membrane.
Bats live all over the world except in places that are extremely hot and dry or extremely cold.
There are two basic groups of bats: the Megachiroptera and the Microchiroptera. Megachiroptera bats include big bats such as the flying fox, while Microchiroptera bats include the little brown bat. Megachiroptera tend to eat fruit, while Microchiroptera tend to eat insects.
