What is Bauhaus design?
By Forinfos - 21/10/2025 - 0 comments
Bauhaus design is based on the principle that art and craft should be combined, blurring the distinction between form and function. The style is noted for its absence of ornamentation and the harmony of aesthetic design and utility
Walter Gropius founded Bauhaus, an art school in Germany, in 1919 with the idea that design should meet the needs of society. Bauhaus-influenced buildings, for example, include clean lines, cubic shapes and open floor plans, and they do not include decorative details that are not functional. The Bauhaus style had tremendous influence on modern design, not only on architecture but also on everyday items, such as chairs or even teapots.
