What are pantyhose?

Pantyhose are tight-fitting leg wear made from nylon materials. Pantyhose are designed to cover a women from the waist all the way to the end of the feet.

At the request of his wife, Allen Grant, Jr. developed the first set of pantyhose in 1953. He called them Panti-Legs. The product was not made available to the public however, until 1959. Around this same time, Ernest G. Rice invented his own pantyhose design which resemble what is commonly seen today. Unfortunately, due to disputes caused by other companies copying his design, he did not receive a patent for his creation before his death.
