How do you style short hair?

One way to style short hair is to twist sections of hair, pin them to the crown of the head, and pin the remaining hair to the back of the head. This creates the illusion of an intricate updo. This 20-minute procedure requires a comb, hairspray, styling wax, texturizing spray and bobby pins,

1. Comb the hair

   Comb the hair, and spray it with texturizing spray.

2. Twist and pin the crown

   Separate a 2-inch section of hair along the hairline, twist it, and secure it with a bobby pin. Place the pin near the roots, so the end of the section remains loose. Repeat this with the rest of the hair on the crown and sides of the head.

3. Form a faux French twist

   Comb the hair on the back of the head, and separate a 1-inch section directly behind the crown. Twist and pin that section. Separate another 1-inch section below the first, twist it loosely, and pin it to the twist above it. Repeat this process down to the nape of the neck.

4. Wax the tips

   Warm a small amount of hair wax between your fingertips, and apply it to the ends of each pinned section. Wrap the sections around your finger, wait 15 seconds, and release them. This defines the ends and gives them a slight curl.

5. Apply hairspray

   Apply strong hairspray over the entire head.
