Does a bent transmission dip stick still give an accurate reading?

A bent transmission fluid dipstick may not give an accurate reading. Depending on the severity of the bend in the dipstick, it may not bottom out properly into the fluid reservoir or it may brush the sides of the dipstick tube on removal, giving an inaccurate transmission fluid level reading.
Replacement transmission fluid dipsticks are available at most auto parts suppliers, including O'Reilly Auto Parts, Advance Auto Parts, AutoZone and AutoPartsWarehouse.com. Generally inexpensive, replacement dipsticks come in standard steel versions and premium chrome-finished varieties. Many dipsticks come in kits with a new dipstick tube and sealing O-ring included. Properly replacing all three helps ensure a more accurate fluid level reading.
