BFI Waste Management was a waste management company based in Houston, Texas. BFI operated landfills and trash hauling services between 1968 and 1999. It was sold to Allied Industries in 1999, and its name and brand were discarded in favor of the Allied Waste Services branding in the United States.
BFI stood for Browning-Ferris Industries and it was the first waste hauling company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. BFI's Canadian business assets were sold to an investment group in 2000; this sale included all BFI trademarks, and the group continued to offer services under BFI's name and logo in Canada.
