When are Bing cherries in season?

The harvest for Bing cherries begins in May and can continue until the end of August. Other cherries, such as Washington cherries, are usually in season from June through September.

Bing cherries are a dark, sweet cherry and are ready for harvesting near the end of spring. Brooks cherries are the first type to ripen every year, and along with Bing cherries, Chelan, Garnet, Sequoia, Sweetheart and Skeena cherries are all harvested at roughly the same time. Dark, sweet cherries, such as the Bing variety, are good for baking in pies, as well as for use in sauces, salads and chutneys.
