Chaz Dean was born in Vermont and adopted as an infant. He grew up in New Jersey and Pennsylvania until his teen years, when his family relocated to California. He completed high school in Simi Valley, California.

Photography has been a long-time passion for Dean, reports Chaz Dean Studio. He originally moved to Hollywood in the hopes of becoming a professional photographer. Although his hair styling career takes most of his time, Dean still regularly donates his photographic services to charitable events. His other interests include biking, Pilates, yoga, meditation and cooking. He also enjoys spending time with his dogs.
