Is black cohosh good for hot flashes?
By Forinfos - 04/11/2025 - 0 comments
Black cohosh is effective in reducing hot flashes and other symptoms related to menopause in some women but not in all, according to WebMD. Users who report positive results with black cohosh say that it also reduces night sweats and sleep problems associated with menopause.
The long-term use of black cohosh has not been proven, but because it acts somewhat like estrogen therapy in menopausal women, WebMD advises that it may also come with some of the risks associated with that type of therapy. It may have negative effects on the liver and should be used with caution. Discontinuing use is advised if yellowing of the skin or eyes is noticed or if unusual weakness or fatigue occurs.
